The End of 6-7? (#50PreciousWords 2026)

March is here and that means it's time for Vivian Kirkfield's #50PreciousWords contest.

For the past two years, my entires won an Honorable Mention and both involved numbers (Two Penguin Dads: The True Story of Elmer and Lima (and Baby Bruno) and Roller Sk8ing Friends (#50PreciousWords 2025). So why break with tradition? This year's story also has two popular numbers - six and seven!

"I'm leaving," said 7.

"But I need you!" said 6.

"If I'm with you, they'll say it."

"What? Six Sev..."

"Aaaauuuughhh!"

7 ran away.

6 was alone.

"I can help," said L.

"How?" asked 6.

"Your frown upside down is a smile. And an L upside down is a...."

"7!"
